ABSTRACT

The Student has been a major area of concern with an increasing student population of increasing interest in the higher institutions of learning over the study focuses on the assessment of students' perception of hostel facilities in Universities, Kogi State University and the University of Ahuja as study area/ate University, Ayingba is located on longitude 7° 15 '_7° 29' and Longitude J 32', while university of Abuja, Gw cs g'vv cz i crci«: is located on Longitude 7° 45' and Latitude 8° 25 and 9° 30'. 77'Ze this research is to access are the state of some selected infrastructure facilities between Kogi University and the University of Abuja, stratified and random sampling technique of student E-test, pie-chart, and bar grapl'Z statistical methods every Llseei analysis. Most of the hostels especially clear of the university of Abuja over fOLln, are overcrowded and unmaintained or poorly maintained. Essential amenities 'tort supply. About 93% of respondents fi--on-z university of Abuja irzeiicat:e tl"7Dstel is overcrowded, while about 79% of respondents of the Kogi State University that theirs is overcrowded. Recommend that e rz cicsr i-o n such as urgent GoverplJ7'7ement in direct hostel development, increased equity participation instit:ut:l)site development. In conclusion hostel facilities in Kogi State university of Abuja are highly in-adequate and overcrowded.
